Here are 7 simple snacks to prepare that will please your little treasures – guaranteed !
1. fruits :
Fruit bores your children? By presenting them in a fun way, we bet that they will only see fire! Cut apples, melons, strawberries, bananas and others using cookie cutters of various shapes (star, heart, triangle …) or invite the children to create their own fruit skewers to dip in yogurt.
2. A nutritious muffin :
For healthy muffins that everyone will love, make them with Ms. Labriski’s date puree, a 100% natural sugar substitute filled with fiber. And there is no question of compromising on taste: coconut-banana muffins with chocolate chips , for example, are sure to please everyone who eats them.
3. Mysterious cheeses :
Good cheeses are great simple, nutritious snacks. To make them taste to children, give them funny names: ping-pong balls, palm trees (thinning cheeses), mouse hiding place (Swiss cheese), squoui-squoui (cheese curds) … The only limit is your imagination !
4. Protein dips :
To plug a corner, dips should be filled with protein and accompanied by a food that contains fiber, such as a slice of whole grain bread. For a quick snack, mix Greek Quebec yogurt from Laiterie Chagnon and a little pesto, or opt for prepared solutions low in fat, such as tofu spread or hummus.
5. A colorful smoothie :
Smoothies are an ideal solution for parents who want their little ones to eat more fruit. A tip to push the note? Add silky tofu, spinach or an avocado: once mashed, children will not detect them and will enjoy them.
For a tasty and ecological alternative, opt for LOOP smoothies . They are made from fruits and vegetables collected from IGA warehouses which do not meet the standards of the food industry. Rather than being rejected, they are transformed for the pleasure of all palates.
6. Crunchy bites :
Do your kids love crisps? Offer them a little healthier crunch, such as Mexican seasoned popcorn , chickpeas roasted with sea salt or rice cakes spread with nut butter. Some vegetables, such as kale or zucchini, can easily be broiled in the oven to become healthy potato chips.
7. A mix of the house hiker :
As the kids love to decide, suggest that they make their own hiker mix! Combine a variety of nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds), dried fruit (cranberries, grapes, chopped apricots) and a surprise or two (chocolate chips or grated coconut, for example) then let the kids have fun.
